Happy August! The lazy and HOT days of summer are coming to an end and preschoolers through college kids are preparing to head back to school. Volunteer sign-up sheets are being circulated through email or stacked in color-coded piles on tables scattered around school cafeterias.

Happy Fall! I absolutely love fall in New Mexico. Growing up as the daughter of Willie B. Good, however, fall meant football.

Since we have celebrated and checked Memorial Day off the calendar, summer can officially begin. As the daughter of Willie B. Good, summer meant road trips to see relatives. Most of Willie’s family still leaved in and around the small East Texas town of Cooper. With bags packed and ham sandwiches in the cooler we headed to Cooper, Texas.
